Society is re-thinking its approach to diversity. The Covid-19 pandemic, and the associated challenges of working from home, have thrown into focus issues such as childcare juggling, the gender pay gap and career progression.

Meanwhile, the Black Lives Matter movement has brought greater urgency and focus to the conversation around ethnic diversity, causing organisations and individuals to explore difficult but important themes such as unconscious bias and micro aggressions.

And social mobility continues to move up the agenda, amid growing unease about the problem of inequality of opportunity along socio-economic and regional divides.

With the pandemic offering the opportunity for a re-set for early talent and the future of work, Legal Cheek is partnering with RPC and Aviva for a virtual student event to explore what comes next.

Lawyers from the firm will discuss how RPC is confronting its own diversity challenges, while also reflecting on the central role of the law in facilitating organisational change. In particular they will be looking at how the firm’s employment team advises its roster of multinational clients on their inclusion and diversity strategies. They will also be discussing how they partner with clients on diversity and inclusion initiatives and will be joined by the Global Head of Talent Acquisition and Diversity and Inclusion at Aviva, an organisation who is leading the charge in the D&I space.

The speakers will also reflect on their careers journeys and give advice to those hoping to follow a similar path.

After the panel discussion there will be virtual networking with the speakers, trainees and members of the RPC graduate recruitment team.

Apply to attend. You’ll be asked to submit a CV and two questions for the panel.
